Privacy Policy — 1Note Widget

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Transparency and respect for your privacy are at the heart of 1Note Widget development. This privacy policy details how our application handles your information.

1. Data Collection and Use

1Note Widget is designed to work primarily locally on your Android device.

  • Your note content (Microsoft OneNote): The app connects to the Microsoft Graph API only to sync and display your selected OneNote pages in your widget.
  • Local storage: For performance and display stability reasons (including preventing Android system crashes), the text and images from your selected notes are cached locally and securely on your device (Room database and application cache directory).
  • No third-party servers: No data, notes, text or images are collected, stored or transmitted to an external server or third party. All OneNote data travels directly and only between Microsoft's secure servers and your device.

2. Required Permissions

To function properly, the app may request the following permissions:

  • Internet access: Required exclusively to authenticate your account via Microsoft MSAL and retrieve your OneNote note content.
  • Background execution (WorkManager): Used to refresh your widget content on a schedule or when you press the refresh button.

3. Data Security

All connections to the Microsoft API use secure protocols (HTTPS). Your authentication tokens are securely managed by the official Microsoft Identity (MSAL) library on your Android device.

4. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be published directly on this page with an updated revision date.
